Plan the final experience
Choose the Position Before the Installation
Placement affects visibility, reach, cable length, airflow, signal quality,
screen reflection, microphone performance, camera coverage, and the overall
appearance of the vehicle interior. The best location is not always the
quickest location.
Before removing adhesive protection or tightening permanent hardware, hold
the device in the proposed position and evaluate it from the normal driving
position. Confirm that it does not obstruct the windshield, instrument
cluster, mirrors, airbags, climate controls, steering movement, gear selector,
pedals, vehicle sensors, or access to essential controls.
01
Driver visibility
Screens and indicators should be readable without covering the driver’s
view or encouraging extended attention away from the road.
02
Signal and sensor access
GPS antennas, microphones, wireless modules, cameras, and vehicle
sensors should not be enclosed or obstructed by unsuitable materials.
03
Serviceable cable routing
Cables should remain secure and discreet while still allowing the device
to be removed, reset, updated, or inspected when necessary.
