Preparing Automotive Electronics
Different product categories require different return preparation.
Before packing a return, disconnect the product safely, remove personal information where applicable, collect every included component, and protect parts that can be scratched, bent, crushed, or damaged by movement.

Car Stereos Displays, wiring, microphones, remotes, and trim parts
Restore all removable accessories Include wiring harnesses, microphones, GPS antennas, USB cables, remotes, mounting hardware, manuals, and installation accessories.
Do not cut or modify wiring Altered connectors, spliced harnesses, scratched displays, and damaged mounting points may affect eligibility.
Car Speakers Speaker pairs, grilles, terminals, and hardware
Protect cones and terminals Use the original inserts whenever possible and prevent screws, brackets, or accessories from contacting the speaker surface.
Avoid mounting damage Torn surrounds, punctured cones, bent baskets, stripped terminals, or drilled mounting points are not standard return condition.
Dash Cameras Cameras, mounts, cables, memory cards, and accessories
Remove personal recordings Delete personal video where possible, remove account access, and include every camera, cable, mount, adapter, and originally supplied memory card.
Protect lenses and screens Place caps or protective material over lenses and prevent mounts or plugs from scratching the camera body.
Backup Cameras Camera modules, wiring, transmitters, and mounting pieces
Return the complete installation kit Include the camera, display if supplied, video cables, wireless modules, brackets, screws, power leads, and installation parts.
Do not return cut cables Cut, shortened, spliced, pierced, or permanently installed wiring may make the product ineligible for a standard return.
GPS Trackers Tracking devices, cables, mounts, and service accounts
Remove vehicle and account data Unpair the tracker, remove saved vehicle information, and review any separate service plan or cellular subscription.
Service plans may be separate Returning hardware does not automatically cancel a third-party subscription or restore previously charged service fees.
OBD2 Scanners Diagnostic tools, cables, adapters, and cases
Clear saved vehicle information Remove stored scans, saved vehicle profiles, paired phones, and account information where the product allows.
Include adapters and cables Missing proprietary cables, adapters, manuals, cases, or connectors can affect the final refund assessment.
Adapters and Chargers CarPlay adapters, transmitters, chargers, and cables
Unpair and collect all accessories Remove saved connections where possible and include cables, extension pieces, remotes, manuals, and original adapters.
Inspect ports and plugs Bent connectors, damaged sockets, liquid exposure, overheating marks, or electrical damage require additional review.
